- The Herring's wife sings a Betty Boop-ish song. For some unknown reason there is no Betty Boop protoype.
- Bimbo plays the role of a detective, a role in which he would return to several years later in Betty Boop's Hollywood Mystery.
- The start of the cartoon uses part of the theme song from Mysterious Mose.
- This is Billy Murray's final appearance as Bimbo.
