Betty is discovered reading in bed. The book is "Mother Goose" and as the cartoon progresses the various immortal characters come to life. Betty enters the fable and in trying to protect Miss Muffet, she is chased by the spider. All the other characters come to her rescue and the picture fades back to Betty in bed reading the book.


  • Betty Boop: "Oh, Jack and Jill went up the hill to fetch a pail of water Jack fell down and broke his crown and Jill came tumbling after."
  • Betty Boop: "Seeing Old King Cole and Little Boy Blue. Maybe Mary's lamb and Simple Simon would greet me. The Cat with the little Mice would play something new."
  • Betty Boop: "Gee, I'd like to go with Mother Goose on a journey just to visit with the dame who lived in the shoe."
  • Betty Boop: "Aha! Hello Tom the piper's son, Jack and Jill and everyone!"
  • Betty Boop: "Young Tom Thumb come play your drum! With a dum-diddle-diddle-um-dum-dum!"
  • Betty Boop: "Humpty Dumpty hear my plea, if you fall please fall for me!"
