The Miser is a character who appeared in the Fleischer Studios 1934 animated cartoon Little Dutch Mill. A variation on the story of Hansel and Gretel, with a Miser (instead of a witch) as the villain.
The Miser hates humanity, crushes flowers poses as a blind beggar to collect money from people who pass him. He is the owner of the "Little Dutch Mill" and has a huge bag of gold. Two Dutch children peek through his window and see his bag of gold, he dives at them and chases them around the mill.
He finally catches them, but they are saved by their parents who throw the villain in a bath, clip his nails, cut his hair and comb it, shave his face, and dress him in formal wear.
The women scrub the walls of the mill and they curtain his windows with bloomers and beat the rugs. The Miser decides he likes what he sees and decides to share his wealth with the townsfolk.
Later, the Miser made a reappearance as the primary antagonist in the 2001 Flash game Betty Boop Big City Adventures: The Ultimate Game of Pursuit, where he had adopted his former habits.
