Lovin' I have to have lovin'
But when I'm having my lovin'
I have to have
Poo-Poo-Pah-Doop-Be now
Boop-Poo-Pah-Doop!
Moments
Oh I must have my moments
But when I'm having my moment
I have to have you-o-oo
Boop-Poo-Pah-Doop-Boop!
I'm so blue...
Waiting for you
To take me
Oh I can't go on like this
Give me a kiss, huh?
And make me
Poop-Poo-Pah-Doop-Pah-Doop!
Whoopee!
I want to make
Whoopee!
And if I wanna make
Whoopee!
I have to have
Poo-Pah-Doop-Pah-Doop-Pah-Doop-Poo-Poo-Pah-Doop!
Whoopee!
Trivia
- Is a parody of Helen Kane's hit song "I Have To Have You"[2] which was also featured in the 1929 film Pointed Heels.
- Betty Boop is not actually saying "Boop", she says "Poo" and "Poop" in her debut. If you listen carefully you can hear the word "P". Given that Margie Hines had won a Helen Kane "Poo-Poo-Pah-Doo" competition a year earlier, this would make sense.
- In his singing dialogue, Bimbo says "Boop".
- An old 1920s saying was that girls make "Poopy" and boys go "Boopy".
- While Betty Boop is singing, there's a female background chorus humming along to the tune of "I Have To Have You".
