The Herring's wife is a minor character that appears in The Herring Murder Case.

She gives a witness statement for the death of her husband the Herring while singing "Waah-Waah-Waah-Waah-Waah!" (the "Waah!" or "Waa!" in the song is her crying), she sings in the Betty Boop-ish "baby-talk" singing style, which was provided by Margie Hines, the original voice of Betty Boop.

The joke is that she and her husband were singing "Waah-Waah-Waah-Waah-Waah!" before his demise.

She and her husband were walking along, singing that song and didn't expect anything wrong. He took her home, and then she heard a groan, she looked around and was walking alone.

Then they were "rearing to go" and the lights were low, he said yes and she said no, until right there, right then "Waah-Waah-Waah-Waah-Waah!", her husband was then shot dead with a gun.
