"Don't Be Like That"[2] is a song that was written by Archie Gottler, Charles Tobias and Maceo Pinkard. It was recorded by Helen Kane on the 20th of December, 1928. It is also a song that was sang by the fictional character Pansy McManus from the musical Good Boy. The song was also performed live by Helen Kane in the Paramount Pictures film Sweetie, which was released in 1929. Betty Boop sometimes used the song as a quote in the 1930s Betty Boop comic strip series.

The motion picture that was shown in court ($250,000 Infringement Lawsuit) showed Baby Esther Jones singing "Wa-Da-Da" and two Helen Kane songs, "Don't Be Like That" and "Is There Anything Wrong In That?". The songs were not only covered by Helen Kane but a number of artists in the 1920s as the song was not written specifically for Helen Kane.

The song has also been covered by Baby Rose Marie, Harry Reser, Annette Hanshaw, Ermine Calloway, Lee Morse, Harold Stokes, The Rhythmic Eight, Harry Richman and the Lou Gold Orchestra. The song was sang on live-radio by "Boop-Boop-a-Doop" radio singer Kate Wright, who sang the song on the OHRBACH Miracle Program 7:00 P.M on the 4th of June under the pseudonym The Mystery Girl.
