Daphne de Bruin

Daphne de Bruin (born, 26 April 1963) is a Dutch director, writer and actress. Daphne followed the directing course from 1985 to 1990 at the Amsterdam School of the Arts.

De Bruin attended the Amsterdam School of the Arts for directed instruction from 1985 till 1990. She first gained recognition for her solo work. Wim Sonneveld, an actor and singer, hosted a competition where she first gained recognition for her solo performance.

Her theatrical work mostly focuses on well-known female figures, offering an alternative perspective to the prevalent portrayal. She has also acted in various main parts and directed a number of pieces.

She has also directed a number of pieces and, whether directly or indirectly, performed in plays.

De Bruin, Paul Feld, and Jeroen Kriek form the creative core of "Growing Up In Public," a theater group based in Utrecht. Along with producer Joost de Groot, she established the cultural project "Via Vinex" in 2008. They create cultural concepts and initiatives, with Leidsche Rijn, Utrecht, being their primary focus.

In 1993, she played the role of Betty Boop[1] in Ruud van Andel's show Wake Up, Betty Boop!.[2]
