Charlie Chaplin (16 April 1889 – 25 December 1977) was an English comic actor, filmmaker, and composer who rose to fame in the era of silent film. He is considered one of the most important figures in the history of the film industry.
Later in life, the real Chaplin lived in Jackson Heights, near Helen Kane the original "Boop-Boop-a-Doop" girl, Victor Moore and Montgomery Clift.
His career spanned more than 75 years, from childhood in the Victorian era until a year before his death in 1977. He's featured in the 1989 "One of The All Time Greats" with Betty Boop, Shirley Temple, and Laurel & Hardy.
Chaplin had many impersonators. He was originally impersonated by Roy Benjamin Weisberg better known as Billy West. He later was most famously impersonated during the 1990s by Tunisian actor Samir Kamoun at Universal Studios Hollywood. In a 1992 Universal Studios VHS souvenir video, Chaplin portrayed "in-person" by Kamoun[1] appears with icons such as Betty Boop, Mae West, Groucho Marx, and Laurel and Hardy.
A caricature of Chaplin was set to make an appearance in The Betty Boop Movie set for a 1994 release, however it was canceled in 1993.
